World Reflexology Week – Monday 21st to Saturday 26th September 2015

I am celebrating World Reflexology Week by offering Half Price Reflexology treatments between Monday 21st to Saturday 26th September 2015

Reflexology is a gentle and relaxing holistic treatment based foot massage imageon the principle that by massaging and applying pressure to parts of the feet known as reflex areas, other corresponding and connected areas of the body will feel the benefit by clearing blockages and stimulating the body’s own healing processes.

How does it work?
Each foot is divided into 5 zones (along the length of the feet) of equal width and they run from top to bottom, front to back. Everything in a zone isconnected, for example: pressure on a toe at one end will affect the head at the other end of the body. The connection between them is energy: every part of a zone is linked by energy.

How is the treatment done?
A reflexology treatment lasts for approximately an hour and it’s just the feet that are worked on. You will remain fully clothed, only your shoes and socks are removed. Whilst you relax on a reclining chair, the treatment will start with a gentle foot massage to release any tension, followed by a variety of reflexology techniques adapted to your individual needs.

Ideally your treatment should be booked on a day when you can rest afterwards, to help your body’s natural healing process.

Potential benefits of reflexology can include:

  • Reduced stress
  • Feelings of deep relaxation
  • Increased energy levels
  • The release of endorphins, the body’s feel good hormones (which can also provide pain relief)
  • Improved circulation
  • More efficient removal of toxins
  • A stronger immune system
  • A sense that the whole body is better balanced, or in harmony
